The Humble Bumble Project was created because of the Griffin family’s cancer journey. Paige Griffin was diagnosed with high grade Stage IV Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma in October 2016 at 20 years old. The Griffins traveled out of state for 28 months to access treatment for Paige, with travel time for each appointment varying between 2 ½ and 5 hours from their home. The Humble Bumble Project was formed to address the financial impact cancer has on pediatric, adolescent, and young adult families.
The mission of the Humble Bumble Project is to alleviate even the slightest amount of financial burden faced by pediatric and young adult cancer families so parents and caregivers can focus on family rather than finance.
The Humble Bumble Project accepts applications for the Flight of the Humblebee and the Bumble Bucks programs for active cancer patients of James P. Wilmot Cancer Center (Rochester, NY), Golisano Children’s Hospital (Rochester, NY), Geisinger Cancer Center (Danville, PA), Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (Danville, PA), UPMC – Hillman Cancer Center (Williamsport/Wellsboro, PA), Penn State Children’s Hospital (Hershey, PA) or Penn State Cancer Institute (Hershey, PA) with patients residing in Bradford, Lycoming, Potter, or Tioga (PA) counties taking priority.
Bumble Bags are distributed at infusion centers located within UPMC – Hillman Cancer Center (Wellsboro/Williamsport, PA), Guthrie Clinic (Wellsboro, PA), James P. Wilmot Cancer Center (Rochester, NY), and Geisinger Cancer Institute (Danville, PA).
Dunkin’ Battle Bag requests are accepted from Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (Danville, PA), Penn State Children’s Hospital (Hershey, PA) or Golisano Children’s Hospital (Rochester, NY).
Donations Accepted:
Highland Chocolates accepts donations via a jar at the Main Street, Downtown Store location, or you can contact Partners In Progress directly to donate via check or credit card.
