After years of working in rescue, it was apparent that the lack of spay/neuter of cats was an enormous issue that made rescue, as important as it is, merely a bandaid that would never solve the problem of overpopulation. In order to truly address the root of the issue which is too many unaltered cats, Tioga County Cat Project was formed with a dedication to spay/neuter of cats.
The primary focus Tioga County Cat Project is to spay/neuter cats. They organize mobile clinics and fix pet cats at low or no cost as well as stray cats, which we also trap and transport, from all over Tioga County PA. As they’ve grown, they’ve also expanded to helping to provide cat food and basic care such as flea treatment and vaccines to help people in need with their cats. In extreme emergencies, we also will operate as a rescue, taking in sick, injured, and abandoned cats and dogs to be fostered, healed, and adopted out into loving homes. The goal of Tioga County Cat Project is to be proactive and creative in how we can be the most help to our community and its animals.
